3 Step Karaoke Party Plan

If you are looking for some fun and inexpensive ways to bring your family closer together you are going to love my post today. This post is about a tradition that I have been a part of for as long as I can remember and has been the source of some of my best family memories.

The tradition is this: once a week we plan a really fun, family focused evening where we can all spend time together and make memories. This tradition is part of my churches culture, but it is more about family fun time and building relationships than about religion, so it is a really fun tradition for any family to adopt. We call if Family Home Evening (or FHE). We rotate between different activities that are interesting to every member of the family. Last night we had the best FHE we have had in awhile, we did a family Karaoke night with Karaoke Juke Box Live and had such a blast singing and dancing together and enjoying yummy treats. If you are thinking of starting a traditional family fun night this would be a great way to start it off!

Planning a karaoke party is super easy and so much fun! It is great to do with family like we did, but it is also a fun thing to do with a small or large group of friends. How To Plan Your Own Karaoke Party

1. First you have to come up with the music. We got our music from Karaoke Juke Box Live, they have a really awesome selection of DVDs and downloadable karaoke videos. They are much more interesting and fun than regular karaoke because each track is played to a music video with original choreography. I loved having the video to watch while we sang, it really added to the fun environment and even inspired awesome dance moves, not just singing. Zoey loves singing but her favorite is dancing so it was adorable seeing her try and copy the dance moves from the music videos! They have a really awesome selection – we just got Greatest Hits Vol. 21 with songs like Bad Romance, Umbrella, Bleeding Love and eight other great songs. There are 26 Volumes total though so far (with a 27th on the way…) and that isn’t even including their french collection! There really is something for everyone.
2. Next head out and buy some treats. We got popcorn and soda as well as a pizza and doughnuts. You can find cute popcorn bags like the ones I got at Walmart for pretty inexpensive. Karaoke is awesome by itself but adding treats and appetizers takes it from a fun activity, to party status.
3. Set up a super star singer photo booth! I thought this was the perfect finishing touch to our party. All you need is a blank wall, a sparkly backdrop and these fun Singer Superstar Photobooth Printables I made for you! Print them by clicking here and attach them to popsicle sticks or skewers. A photo booth is such a fun way to capture memories of the party and will be something fun for everyone to look back on.

We had so much fun doing our family karaoke night and really can’t wait to do another one, every time a song finished Zoey would yell, “Moooooore song! Moooore song!” She was a huge fan and so was I. Her favorite song was Apologize, she was right on singing Too Late!!! every time the chorus came around. I couldn’t get Kris to actually SING this time… But we are working on that.
