A Little Life Update

I have been doing a lot of tutorial type posts lately and not talking as much about my life, so today I thought I would give you guys a little glimpse into my life lately. We didn’t do a Christmas Card or anything this year, so this post can be that.

Right now I am just as busy as usual. Sleeping and eating are my nemesis, because they take valuable time away from my list of things that I would much rather be doing. Having two kids is a lot more work than I expected, but I love it. Zander makes me realize how grown up Zoey really is. He has opened my eyes wider to just how fast this childhood thing goes by. I am trying to spend a lot more time with them during the day, and often stay up till 3am catching up on my personal pursuits/work.

Zander is probably the easiest baby on the planet. I almost feel guilty about how low maintenance he is. He rarely cries and sleeps a lot. When he isn’t sleeping he is happy to just chill and watch whatever Zoey and I might be up to. My favorite thing is how cuddly he is in the mornings. He comes into bed with us at 5 or 6am and just sleeps on my chest for a few hours. I will miss that when he gets too big… He is sleeping through the night (mostly) so I have a lot more energy to put towards singing and exercising. It feels fantastic to be doing both of those things again!

Kris is working as hard as ever at becoming a doctor. He constantly amazes me. Medical school is HARD. Like really, really hard. But he doesn’t complain. Right now he is working at a hospital here in Erie in the ICU. He works 60 hours a week and has the weekends off. Even though he is gone a lot we still feel like we get to see him often. He is really good at making the most of our time together and making us feel like the top priority, even though we don’t get most of his time.

I thought I would ask Zoey to update you guys with new things in her life, so I started to ask her questions from that popular “Toddler Interview” that I’ve been seeing on Facebook a lot. She got it in her head that it would be hilarious to answer all my questions in gibberish. So basically every answer was some variation of cheeky-choo-choo poo-poo pee-pee…

So we will skip the toddler interview and I will just tell you, she is growing up SO much! She can talk so much better than she could even three months ago, when Zander was born. She hardly seems like a baby at all these days… She’s just a little tiny human with more thoughts and things to say than most.

Zoey loves ‘making recipes’ with me, she loves playing “mate-mits” (magnets) and she is obsessed with the mall! Why?!??? I have no idea… We only spend about 15 minutes at the mall playground and mostly go to stores that I like. Still, she ALWAYS asks to go to the mall. She is also obsessed with playgrounds, even though the past three times I have brought her to one she decides it is toooooo cold after a minute or two. No matter how warm I dress her.

Which brings me to a sad development in Zoey’s world. She no longer likes the snow. Last year it was her favorite thing in the world. And when it first snowed here she loved it. But in the past couple weeks she has decided she hates the snow. It is WAY too cold, no matter how warm we dress her she always tells us, “I don’t like the snow! Its too cold! I want to move to Hawaii!” OR “I just want to take a hot bath.” In her mind a hot bath and Hawaii are basically equivalent… haha.

So that is a little update on our family at the beginning of this year! I can’t believe 2016 will is OVER. It was one of the best years ever and went by crazy fast. I am SO EXCITED for 2017!  I just feel like it is going to be an amazing year.
