Zoey’s Fourth Birthday Party at Splash Lagoon

Birthday parties one, two and three are done! I told you we were going to be doing a lot of partying this month. These are all the fun pictures of Zoey’s birthday. Coming up next will be Zander’s party post, so stay tuned. We had Zoey’s party at Splash Lagoon in Erie. I don’t think there could be a more fun spot in Erie to celebrate a birthday! It has been a few months since we have been able to jump in the lake, and with Waldameer closed for the winter, Splash Lagoon is really the only place you can swim in Erie right now.

Zoey’s party last year was SO fun, but so chaotic. It must have taken me hours to prepare and decorate, and longer to clean up after everyone left the party scene. This year I decided I was going to have someone else host both my babies birthdays so I could sit back, relax and just drink in the magic of all the moments. It worked out really well, Splash Lagoon set up a table for us, served the food and the cake, gave out fun prizes and cups to all the kids and of course provided alllllll the fun we could hope for playing in the water! When you are a kid, birthday parties are pretty much the highlight of your life. Rather than feeling stressed and overwhelmed all day, I got to enjoy the party with Zoey while Splash Lagoon did all the work for me.

We had a couple tables reserved for the whole day inside the waterpark. It was perfect for snack breaks, birthday cake, presents and games. Zander even fell asleep in his stroller while we ate pizza and it was the perfect place for us to let him nap, away from the water. When you book a party at Splash Lagoon you get full day access to their giant indoor waterpark. Having a table all day was great for kids (or parents) who needed a quick break from the fun.

Originally I was just going to invite all kids and a few parents to help me watch them, but I decided to invite whole families to the party because at Splash Lagoon there is fun stuff for all ages. There are the big waterslides (or the ‘daddy slides’ as Zoey calls them), but there are also the little splash pools and the lazy river. Even Zander has fun in the kiddy pool. After having our fill of the pool we all headed to the arcade! When you book a party each of the guests gets $5 to play at the arcade. It was the perfect way to end the festivities.

The only problem with this whole Splash Lagoon birthday thing is now Zoey is going to insist we host every party at Splash Lagoon! She has not stopped talking about it since we went. This morning she told me, “That was the best party ever mommy…”, which made me so happy since it was all for her! I wouldn’t be surprised if I was sharing another Splash Lagoon birthday party post a year from now (or another party there sooner, just for fun;).

  1. Head over to this page to start planning your party!
  2. Select the party you want. You can do a 4 hour party, or a full day party for only $100 more.
  3. Choose the number of people you want to be there, you can change this up to 48 hours in advance, so don’t worry if you can only make a rough estimate.
  4. Select anything else you want to add to the party, some things are included – 2 pizzas, unlimited drinks for everyone and $5 arcade cards for each guest – but you can add on more options like extra pizza, a birthday cake, goody bags, laser tag, aqua tumbler tickets and more. For special food items you can call and make arrangements with their party planning coordinator, Jessica! She is amazing and helped us SO much with our party plans.
  5. When you show up go to the desk that says “Party and Group Check In” above it.
  6. Have fun!

We absolutely LOVED our Splash Lagoon party. I made a movie of the party which you can watch here. Zoey keeps watching it and begging to go back! I mostly just can’t believe we have a FOUR year old. How has it been four years already since she was my tiny newborn?! Also I think it is safe to say we topped Zoey’s birthday party last year, which I thought would be really hard to do!

Erie friends, have you been to Splash Lagoon yet?? Where is your favorite place to have a birthday party?
