Getting Back in Shape with my BodyBoss Fitness Guide

You may have noticed, it has been awhile since I posted anything fitness related around here. I have always had a hard time exercising. To me it feels like a chore, it is uncomfortable, time consuming and I have a hard time knowing what types of exercise are actually worth my time. I have done nothing to get back in shape postpartum, other than chase two babies around constantly ;).

Right before I became pregnant with Zander I had just started committing to a regular exercise routine for the first time in my life. But when I became bed ridden from my pregnancy, exercise was impossible. Since Zander was born I’ve been busier than ever, so I haven’t gotten back into an exercise routine. Extra time to get back in shape postpartum just hasn’t existed for me. I even went so far as to pack up all my workout clothes and give them away. They were making me feel guilty.

People say it a lot, because it is TRUE. Being a mom is busy! My whole life I have been responsible for managing one person, me. When I had Zoey overnight my responsibilities were double. I had two people to feed, clothe and keep healthy, educated and safe. With Zander that load grew and I have been more busy and stretched thin in my responsibilities. Exercise has been completely out of the question.

Until I read this article my friend Joy wrote about how to get back in shape postpartum. She talked about this 12 week program called BodyBoss. BodyBoss is a highly structured approach to unlocking your dream body in a short amount of time. In fact the workouts are only 24 active minutes a day, three days a week, for 12 weeks! It sounded to good to be true, but her post was so convincing. I had to try it for myself.

When my BodyBoss book arrived I discovered that it includes a bonus 4 week pre training program. You can use it to get ready for the 12 weeks if you feel the need. It is perfect for people who haven’t exercised in awhile, like me. the pre-course was just what I needed before starting into the 12 week routine. The fact that I have less muscle and more fatigue than I ever have had in my life (and I am only 25!!!) is discouraging. But this pre-course helped me build strength and confidence in myself at the same time.
