For me this song is all about HOPE. Some may think of it as a depressing song but for me it is inspiring. I have had a few people tell me that hoping usually leads to disappointment, it is better to only dream of the achievable. But for me hope is a beautiful thing, it celebrates the potential we have as people and minimizes our focus on the past.
This song says, I am not an idiot, I know this might never actually work, but please let me hold onto this glimmer of hope, because hope makes me happy. Hope is what gets us through the hard times. When there is nothing else to feel happy about, there is always joy in the possibilities that lay ahead.
