Beach Getaway to Treasure Island

SO I couldn’t write all about our trip to Florida without sharing a little bit about our hotel. Unless we are literally just sleeping and leaving, we will never stay at a hotel that doesn’t have a pool & hot tub (although we are more lenient on the hot tub now that we have our own). I was just thinking about it though, and isn’t it a little strange that so many hotels have pools? How did that become a thing?? Why don’t they have free bowling alley’s or mini movie theaters? Anyways – the point of this post was to tell you more about our hotel in Treasure Island! So back on topic.

We stayed at the Treasure Bay Resort & Marina on Treasure Island (about two hours from Orlando). Even though our room really could have used a good vacuum and dusting before we stayed in it, we were really happy with it over all. The pool and hot tub were fun for Zoey (and Kris). But since it was a budget hotel it attracted an interesting crowd. We went there early in the morning and once it got dark. Those were the times we had it all to ourselves. If we went to the pool midday there was smoking, beer and loud music on personal speakers. Not super classy, and definitely not a baby friendly environment.

Our room was huge and had a mini fridge and small kitchen area. Our balcony overlooked the marina which was just beautiful. To get to the beach all you had to do was cross the street! It was the perfect location because we got to enjoy both sides of the island (peninsula??). Oh and it wasn’t very expensive. We would definitely stay there again next time we visit Treasure Island on a budget. Once Kris is working we would probably stay somewhere a little fancier so we don’t have to find dust in the corners of the room. Gross.

How did we end up at Treasure Island? I really don’t know, but I am glad we did! We flew into Orlando and wanted to stay somewhere on the beach and really didn’t know where to go. We loved Clearwater Beach from our last visit, but I wanted to stay somewhere a little less crowded and touristy. Clearwater Beach was so pretty, but SO busy. Kris found Treasure Island and since it was right on the beach, but about an hour from Tampa, we thought it might be less crowded. It was way less crowded. Treasure Island turned out to be the perfect spot for a quiet beach getaway. I know I already said we wanted to move to Celebration, but we want to move to Treasure Island now too. I change my mind every week about where I want to end up living. There are just so many beautiful places in the world!

If you could live on a beach somewhere, where would it be??
