Probably About Time That I Posted This…

February 21st seems like a good day to share pictures of what we took Christmas day… Right? I try really hard to share pictures of everything we do on my blog, so that it can be a type of journal for us to look back on. I am not very good at journaling. Actually I am horrible at it. I probably write in a journal once every six months. That is why I make a big effort to get everything on the blog, but sometimes it takes time.

This particular batch of pictures has been waiting since Christmas, so almost two months now. I was tempted to just skip them, but it is a memory and one I don’t want to forget. We finished opening presents and stocking and wanted to get out of the house. So we went to our go to spot, Presque Isle Park.

When we got to the park we realized that it was a lot colder on the water than it was at home. We didn’t bring gloves for ourselves or Zoey and that was a big mistake… But we had already driven twenty minutes to get there so decided to try and make the most of it. We bundled Zoey up in an extra blanket we had in the car, but one minute into the walk she was complaining about the cold.

I was all ready for some fun family time and we had even brought Zoey’s new bike for her to try out. But we lasted about ten minutes before the cold was too much. We loaded back into the car and went home. It wasn’t a total waste, I always enjoy driving with Kris because it is a time we can talk without too many distractions. Both the kids are buckled safely in their seats and the majority of the time they seem to zone out, staring out the windows, so it is peaceful. I always enjoy driving with Kris for that reason.

One other good thing about this day – it was the first time we saw Lake Erie frozen. I am not sure what the beach side looked like, but the harbor was completely covered in ice! It was so beautiful. Seriously guys, I have yet to see a season that doesn’t look gorgeous on Presque Isle. I LOVE the area we are living in right now. Just wish I could zap all my family members into my neighbors homes. Then it would be perfect. Although the neighbors might complain…
