For those of you who have been following my Instagram stories, you may have noticed we have been living at the Hampton Inn & Suites for a month! We may be living in a hotel room for the month, but that doesn’t stop us from getting in the Christmas spirit! This is our favorite holiday of the year, and since we are Canadian and have Thanksgiving in October, we start decorating for the Christmas right after Halloween. With all the traveling we have been doing this season it was difficult find time for Christmas decorating. We had to get a little creative. Today I am going to give you a little tour of our hotel room and tell you how to transform your temporary home into a holiday haven if you are traveling for Christmas.
While I decorated the apartment I couldn’t resist indulging in a bag of Raging Red Sour Punch® Bites® from Walmart! I love the new flavors available in the Assorted Bites bag too. I had grabbed a bunch to use for stocking stuffers. Guess I will have to get some more, since the stocking stuffer supply has been dwindling while I decorate… Anyways, here are my top twenty holiday essentials to bring the Christmas spirit into your temporary home if you are going to travel for Christmas.
20 Christmas Decorating Essentials for Holiday Travel
1. Mistletoe Everywhere!
Small and portable, and it doesn’t only make things Christmassy, it also adds a romantic touch to your hotel room. Mistletoe is absolutely essential!
2. Strings of Lights
I am still trying to figure out where to hang my lights in the hotel room, but since they are so compact I had to bring some, they are easy to fit in a suitcase if you are going to travel for Christmas.
3. A Wreath
You can pick a wreath up from any grocery store when you get to your destination, it adds a homey touch to your hotel door.
