My Top | My Leggings | Zoey’s Dress

The weather is getting to be more beautiful! I love it. Today Zoey and I spent a couple hours just sitting on the porch and soaking in the sun. Well – I sat and held my poor stomach that won’t stop aching – and she ran around and found rocks and sticks and leaves. She can spot a dog coming down the sidewalk from a mile away and will stand in the middle of the sidewalk staring down the stranger and their dog till they get close enough and then she runs and pets the dog. She gets super shy right after and runs to me and hides her face. I love that we have so many neighbors with friendly dogs to fill up Zoey’s dog-love cup.

So for those of you who don’t know, when you are pregnant often times your sense of smell and taste is heightened due to the hormones in your body. So lately me and everyone else in the family has been brushing our teeth more often to avoid making me sick. Zoey LOVES to give ‘doggy kisses’ (basically she licks you), which is not super enjoyable, especially when she has pizza breath. I have probably tested 8 different types of toothpaste in the last month trying to find a scent that doesn’t offend my nose and taste buds and I finally settled on Boka. It is a brand I recently discovered and fell in love with every aspect of. The toothpaste is made using natural ingredients and essential oils. It also contains no sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), fluoride, triclosan, artificial flavors or parabens.

The toothbrush bristles are soft and more gentle on your teeth and gums. My dentist actually told me the bristles on most toothbrushes are too tough and can damage the enamel, so I have been looking for something with a softer touch and this is just what I needed. The bristles are made with Binchotan activated charcoal bristles, which naturally helps prevent bacteria from growing on the brush. Zoey hates having her teeth brushed, but she has been great with the kids Boka brush. I am able to brush her teeth for a lot longer with this one because it doesn’t scratch or irritate her gums at all. I actually brought her to the dentist the other day for the first time and they said she had ZERO cavities, not super common for a toddler. Toddlers make it hard to brush and floss, which is why I love anything that makes the process a little easier.

I seriously can’t say enough good about Boka… I usually don’t subscribe to anything, but after testing their brushes, floss and toothpaste and reading all about Boka, I literally couldn’t not subscribe. You actually can just buy their products from their site as needed, but since I know that you are supposed to change your toothbrush every three months for optimal oral health, and since you can custom design your subscription to fit your families exact needs AND you can cancel at any time, I find it a lot easier to just subscribe and get a package in the mail every three months.

Boka has offered my readers a 25% discount code that can be used between now and April 15th and let me tell you I will be using it… I am obsessed. The code is RACHEL25 – yes, my name is spelled wrong, so just make sure to enter it like that at checkout.

Well I need to run. Apparently Zoey’s ‘big potty treat’ wasn’t big enough so I have to go deal with a melt down… The ups and downs of a premature threenager are amazing.
