Fall Skin Care At Home

It feels like just yesterday I was sharing my summer skin care routine with you all and now it is fall! There are so many exciting things going on right now. My babies have birthdays, we are planning a month long trip to New York, a tropical vacation is also in the works, we have Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner! I absolutely LOVE this season. But today I am going to take a step back from the busyness and talk about something important. This something that can often fall to the bottom of the priority pile during the busy fall season, and something you can do at home to make this whole season better.

Today I am going to share some at home tips for fall skin care. Fall is a time of beautiful changing seasons, but the cold weather also means things dry up a little. For me fall means more chapped lips, more colds and more dry skin. As I’m rushing around this season, skin care can be hard to prioritize. That is why I am sharing 5 easy ways you can care for your skin at home this fall.

5 At Home Fall Skin Care Tips

Moisturize Right After You Shower

Right after you shower is always the best time to moisturize. Your pores are more open and likely to absorb moisture then. During the fall season I use an ointment spray for my skin care, since it is especially effective.

Use A Humidifier

The air gets drier in the winter months, which can result in drier skin. I just pulled out my humidifier and love the results. When you are out and about the atmosphere might be dry, but with a humidifier you can control the moisture in the air at home. Not only does my skin feel better, but my throat and eyes are less dry and irritated too. Having a humidifier out is great for kids and cold season too! If you like, you can add a couple drops of clove or cinnamon essential oils to your humidifier, to bring some fall scents into your home as you humidify.

Weekly Homemade Facial Masks

One thing I want to try this winter is homemade facial masks. I have heard so many good things about different combinations of things you can find in your own kitchen, and make at home. My idea is to experiment with a new combo every week and see what I like best. I have heard mashed avocado is very moisturizing, so I think I will try that first. Cooked oatmeal and honey is another combo I want to try!

Overnight Moisturize Problem Spots

You can moisturize problem areas on your skin for more penetrating results. For example try spraying your feet with a ton of AquaphorⓇ Ointment Body Spray, and putting some socks over the ointment. Wear them all night when you sleep. This can help get rid of rough, dry skin. Your feet feel so good in the morning after this treatment!

These are just a few simple skin care tips that have helped me, and I hope they will help you have radiant, beautiful skin all fall long!
