Fall Wardrobe Staple For Before & After The Bump

For all the ladies out there who are coming to the end of their pregnancy right as the fall season hits, I thought I would share my favorite fall wardrobe staple. It is a style you will wear before and after the bump! And it is also a style that will make a lot of your summer styles work for fall. Hitting month eight and nine of pregnancy right as a season changes means that you will need to do some shopping. Nobody likes to purchase a whole new wardrobe that you will only wear for a few weeks though, right???

You don’t have to buy a whole bunch of new fall maternity clothes when you are just about to give birth. Actually if you look in the right places you don’t even need to buy one piece of fall maternity! The key to making this transition is to find a beautiful cardigan that will work with your summer wardrobe. This will tie you over till you can start purchasing some post bump fall styles. I already have a wardrobe full of summer maternity styles. I simply found a cardigan that hung open over my bump and used it to transition my summer wardrobe to fall.

The best idea is to get a few neutral colored cardigans that will match with everything. I’d also recommend going for something a little higher end, something that won’t wear out quickly. You will want something that will give last seasons wardrobe a fresh, new look. I absolutely love Evy’s Tree luxury hoodies. They have a classy look, but a super comfortable feel. Most of the cardigans at Evy’s Tree are long, which makes them work great with a bump. Most of their styles can be worn open or closed as well, which is a great feature for transitioning from pregnancy to post-partum.

If you are going to go for just one I would without a doubt grab The Nicole in Raven. It has a super soft lining, goes with anything, and it works perfectly with or without a bump! Right now they have an amazing sale going on, but I don’t expect The Nicole will stay in stock long. The code is SCHOOL35 and will get you 35% off your order site wide, now till the 9/28 at 10pm. If you miss that one another great option for a fall wardrobe staple is the Lisa in Iced Coffee and the Birgit in Snorkel Blue, both of these sweaters are great options for pre and post bump!

Pregnancy Update: Tomorrow I am 34 weeks pregnant! Only 6 weeks till my due date… For those of you who are wondering what my posts on my personal Instagram were about, I went in for my regular check up and ended up spending half the day taking tests and in the hospital. I told my midwife about some symptoms I had been having and she decided to check me. It turns out I was 2cm dilated and 60% effaced. That can be totally normal for your second baby. He was also measuring small though. There were a few other things going on as well, but I think any more details might be TMI for the non-prego’s out there.

So just to be on the safe side my midwife ordered an ultrasound, stress test, blood work, other tests… and to top it all off two steroid shots to help mature babies lungs faster in case he decided to make an early appearance. Those hurt SO bad. The ultrasound showed that he is right on schedule size wise, his head is just really low down which is why he was measuring small.

The night after this I had contractions for hours, I am pretty sure I was dehydrated after spending the whole day in the hospital without my water bottle. So I had another stress test the next day, but by that time I had drank lots of water and the contractions were gone. Everything looks good and normal now and I don’t see any reason I won’t go full term. I think this little boy was just trying to get me in gear. I have been feeling exhausted lately and something about this whole experience snapped me out of a daze. Nesting has kicked into supercharge mode over here and I am racing around like the road runner from Bugs Bunny trying to get everything ready. I can barely get to sleep before 2am. I have a lot of fun maternity styles to share with you guys over the next few weeks. All of them are styles that will transition to my post pregnancy wardrobe, but lets hope I get to share them all with you before that happens!!!

Who else is getting ready to have a baby right as the season is changing? Any other pregnant ladies out there who hate buying clothes they know they will only wear a month or two? What is your fall wardrobe staple this season? I look forward to hearing from you guys!
