Huge thanks to The Grainhouse for sponsoring this post! And thank you to my readers who support that brands that make my blog possible.
Two exciting things happened last week in the home department! First, we redecorated our whole house with Grainhouse decor… I am obsessed!! Two, we went on our first home tour at a house for sale in the neighborhood we want to live! It was a little premature. We won’t be able to start making offers on any homes for a few months at least… But I have been checking Zillow every day, just to see what is available. When what seemed to be our dream home popped up on the market, we couldn’t resist taking a peek.
The house was for sale by owner. When we got there we found out that the lady who was selling it, also built and designed it. The home looked as if she had access to my Pinterest dream home board when she was planning out the light fixtures, paint colors and room details. If I built it myself there wasn’t anything I would change. The kitchen cabinetry was beautiful, the countertops were white marble, there was shiplap on a feature wall in the entrance and paneled above the fireplace, rustic wood accents throughout the home and so much more… The master shower was four times the size of ours, with stunning subway tile work. It was the perfect combination of rustic farmhouse and modern, clean designs.
With all these thoughts of home buying, I have also been thinking of how I will decorate my new home when we find one! One of my favorite places to shop is Christmas Tree Shops. Last time I was shopping there I discovered a new collection of furniture, home accessories, textiles and entertaining essentials called The Grainhouse. I fell in love with their farmhouse inspired collection and couldn’t resist bringing a few pieces home with me. Ok maybe more than a few… The picture below is most of our haul from the Christmas Tree Shops Grainhouse collection. That shopping spree and the home tour combined are what inspired me to redecorate our home with Grainhouse decor.
In the Grainhouse collection I easily found pieces for every room in my home. I got throw pillows and a few wall hangings for our bedroom. The cutest ruffle shower curtain from the Grainhouse collection was perfect for our master bath. Zoey and I picked out a variety of candles holders, artificial topiary’s, and other small accessories that look perfect on my piano. When we move into the new house I want to donate our current dish-ware and replace it with the beautiful dishes from the Grainhouse! I didn’t buy any dishes from them yet, but I will definitely be going back.
I love the clean lines, soft neutral colors and engaging textures. Grainhouse makes my home more beautiful, without getting in the way of our daily life. I find that some home accessories are cumbersome and annoying, but not Grainhouse. It is both stylish and livable. Grainhouse offers the perfect way to incorporate the farmhouse decorating trend into home decor. From the balcony to the bedrooms, Grainhouse brings the warmth, comfort and style farmhouse decorating is known for. And the best part – their affordable pricing won’t break the bank. I was shocked every time I looked at a price tag. The Macrame pillows, for example, were only $20 each. My mom was shocked when I told her since she just spent over $80/ per accent pillows for her home!
I have a lot of things on my list of requirements for a new home. We need a big yard, a double garage, an office for me… I want the home to be new, clean, white and have amazing lighting throughout. I also want to be more thoughtful and purposeful with my home decor, and only bring in pieces that really compliment my home. That is why I am slowly collecting more and more Grainhouse pieces for when that exciting day comes that we find our dream home.
It seems so surreal that we are just a few months out from real house hunting. I can’t wait to share that process with you guys. But for now I am content to work on filling my apartment with everything I need to make our new hypothetical house feel like home. No matter what stage of the house buying/renting process you are in, Grainhouse has something to make your home complete.
What do you look for in home decor? Are you on board with the modern farmhouse home decorating trend?!
