The first day of snow was so magical! Zoey has been waiting anxiously for snow and the first fall did not disappoint. It was an absolute flurry of flakes flying everywhere, the gigantic, catch in your mouth kind. I am not exaggerating at all when I say Zoey was running around, squealing like she had won the lottery.

She kept yelling, “It’s NO-ing!!! It’s no-ing mama!” Once we got outside she looked at me with big eyes and said, “I touch it mama?” just to make sure it was ok. I told her to go for it and she immediately started shriek-laughing as she threw handfuls of snow in the air. She kept running into the deep snow and stomping around, sadly this got snow inside her boots so we had to go inside after not too long. Call me a mean mom, but I didn’t want her little toes to freeze off. Once we got inside she threw herself onto her beanie chair quite dramatically and wailed loudly till she kind of forgot why she was crying (5 minutes) and went back about her day.

I thought her rain obsession was over the top, but her snow love was ten times that at least. I love having a little nature lover who helps me get outside all the time!

  1. That is so cute!! I can imagine her delight, it made my own ‘snow day’ over here seem even more magical. It is a good reminder to relish the small moments. I love the clothing. . .I think I may need to pop by Old Navy again 🙂

  2. Rachael love first snow days. I was waiting to see the rest of your outfit to see if it fit the occasion. With Pat, Phil and Brent we used to go out into the snow in our bathing suits and take pictures just to show our Alberta cousins that even when it snowed in Victoria it was still pretty warm. Of course, we were really faking our smiles.
