While visiting New York this December we celebrated our fourth anniversary of being married! We thought it would be fun to take some new wedding photos while in New York City with my sister-in-law who is an amazing wedding photographer. Now we have two sets to look back on, one to mark are real wedding day and one to mark our four year anniversary!

Four years felt kind of like a big one to me for some reason. We have been married for twice as long as Zoey has been alive, and half as long as the average marriage in the USA lasts. Since this whole Kris and me thing kind of started when I was 15 we have also now been married longer than we liked each other and dated before we were married. We met when I was 11 so we still have four years to go before we’ve been married longer than we knew each other before we were married.

We have been through a lot together. Kris watched my graduate and then I watched him graduate while we welcomed our first child into the world. We have lived in 3 apartments, but five states (lived with my parents a few times!). We have been to Disney Land, Hawaii, Niagara Falls and New York City together and a whole bunch of other places. We went through the med school application process together, Kris is the one going, but it was such a team effort to get him there. We have seen each other at our best and worst and have been each others number one supporters through it all. Basically we are good together.

We have a lot of exciting things coming up this year too, including moving to a new city and tipping past the halfway point as a medical student family. Lots of other things in the works as well and I will keep you updated as they play out.
