Who Else Luvs Halloween?

Am I the only one who is already thinking of Halloween? I already ordered costumes for BOTH my babies… I can’t wait for them to come in the mail and I can’t believe that by the time Halloween comes I will have two little kiddies in costumes. We have been snacking on candy corn and sipping hot spiced tea. Yesterday I was feeling a little crafty and thought it would be fun to get some Halloween themed decor up before the baby comes.

FYI Zoey did her own lipstick for all the pictures in this post… She always manages to grab my lip STAIN, which is impossible to wash off, while I am doing my mascara. It is like she knows the exact moment that I have my makeup out, but I’m not paying too much attention to it. I think she did a great job though😂💄

Zoey and I ran to the store and got a bunch of supplies and we created the cutest Halloween centerpiece for our kitchen table. It is Halloween themed since it has the candy corn in it – or as Zoey calls them – ‘little carrots’, BUT it could easily work as a fall centerpiece for the entire season.

We found everything at Walmart for under $15! While you are at Walmart might as well stock up on some Luvs diapers too (I included a coupon at the bottom of this post). Zoey has been using all my newborn diapers on her baby dolls and throwing them out with each change… She keeps doing it right after she wakes up from her nap, super quietly, I don’t realize till the damage is already done. SO I have to replenish my supply a little before the baby is born!

Anyways! To create your Halloween centerpiece here is an easy guide.

How To Make An Easy Halloween Centerpiece

All you need is:

  • 6 tea candle holders (75 cents each at Walmart)
  • A matching vase ($1 at Walmart)
  • 3 shades of matte acrylic paint, I got yellow, salmon and cream (50 cents each at Walmart)
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Candy corn
  • Black licorice
  • Chocolate malt balls

Tea Candles

  1. Pour about a tablespoon of paint into the bottom of the tea candle holder.
  2. Place some type of cover (I used an old pickle jar lid) over the top of the tea candle and shake it till the paint has completely covered the inside of the glass. Also check out Zoey’s expressions in all the pictures… Priceless haha.Easy Halloween Centerpiece or Fall Centerpiece by Lifestyle Blogger Rachael Burgess
  3. Remove the lid carefully and use a paper towel to clean the rim of the glass.
  4. Repeat this process for each tea candle holder. I did two of each color.Easy Halloween Centerpiece or Fall Centerpiece by Lifestyle Blogger Rachael Burgess
  5. Allow them to dry at least overnight before attempting to put candles in.Easy Halloween Centerpiece or Fall Centerpiece by Lifestyle Blogger Rachael Burgess

Candy Centerpiece

  1. At the bottom of the glass vase loop about 6 pieces of black licorice.Easy Halloween Centerpiece or Fall Centerpiece by Lifestyle Blogger Rachael Burgess
  2. Stuff in enough mini marshmallows to hold that in place and create a 1 inch layer of marshmallows.
  3. Layer candy corn on top of that and malt balls next.
  4. Repeat the licorice step, then stuff in a whole bunch of marshmallows in the center.Easy Halloween Centerpiece or Fall Centerpiece by Lifestyle Blogger Rachael Burgess
  5. Using the mini marshmallows to hold them in place, alternate candy corns facing up and down around the entire rim of the vase, directly above the black licorice.
  6. Pile on some chocolate malt balls.

Put It All Together

After you have created those to portions of your Halloween centerpiece you can arrange everything on the table! I added in some pumpkins and fake fall leaves to spruce it up as well.
