These pictures are from a day in Hawaii. When we first went to the beach it took Zoey a little while to warm up to the waves, but she warmed up to the sand instantly. Within minutes she was trying to eat it, pouring it on her own head, building castles… She likes sand. In some of these pictures it looks like we are the only ones on the beach. I am not sure how that happened seeing as it was really busy this particular day.

I don’t know what it is about Hawaii and Laie and the beach that makes me feel so at peace with life, but it really does. That is why I chose the quote above. Zoey’s face in these pictures combined with the beautiful backdrop just emulated peace and happiness. Something I hope she will grow up with always. When I was looking at these pictures I just kept thinking about how content I feel in Hawaii, life always feels like a beautiful blessing to me, but it is different in Laie, there is something extra there. Maybe I was a mermaid in another life and lived in the reefs and that is why I feel so drawn to the island… Anything is possible!
