Visiting New York was definitely the highlight of my holidays. The streets were decorated in Christmas lights and everywhere we went there were Christmas trees on the sidewalks that you could buy and have delivered right to your home. The whole city was so festive and I loved being able to try 100 different restaurants and cafes within five minutes walk of our apartment.

My sister in law Kari took these photos while we were out exploring the area around our AirbNb apartment. We left our babies with our hubbies and scouted out the area. While we were out we found the most adorable shop called The Little Pie Company which we returned to later for pies, and then again later for a cake… Oops. Splurging like that is a required part of the holidays, right?

I learned some interesting things about New York during this photo shoot, like the fact that it doesn’t matter if the crosswalk says walk, it really means walk as quickly as possible. I was walking slowly across while the walk sign was still highlighted and almost got hit by a taxi who wasn’t very patient. I also learned that if you want to take a picture, you just have to pose wherever the heck you want and people will walk around you, if you wait for a spot to be empty it will never happen. I also got to meet and see lots of unique people, more than you would in any other city. Like the 80 year old woman who told me I was doing a good job and she used to be a model too and so she knows how it is (???). Or the 40 year old man on the corner of the street yelling, “Ladies and gentlemen! Can anyone spare $100? I want to get laid and buy some weed.”

It was a super windy day so I was really happy I brought along my brand new coat from ShopBop that I just bought, it is super comfy and warm… The rest of my outfit for those interested is older, but I linked to similar items that you can find on ShopBop as well.
