Day 2 in New York City. We only had a weekend, Friday to Monday, so we packed every day full of tourist attractions and must-see sights. We used CityPASS to make sure we fit everything in for such a great discount. The Statue of Liberty is something I have wanted to see ever since I watched that movie An American Tail with Fievel the mouse, which was when I was 8 or 9 years old. It was really fun to check off this bucket list item. It was literally theeee coldest day on Liberty Is., but still so worth the experience. If you are heading out to see the Statue of Liberty prepare for colder weather than you would think because out on the island there is absolutely no protection from the wind, so it feels much colder than walking around the city.

Last time we visited New York we took the Staten Island ferry so we could get a glimpse of the statue without paying, it was cool… but this experience was SO much better. We were right at the base of the statue AND it was an amazing view of the city sky line. You also get to visit the Ellis Island museum as part of the ride which looked really cool from the outside, but we didn’t stop because we had too many things to do that day. Definitely next time.

The Christmas tree pictures are in Brookfield Place Mall which we visited right before going to the 911 memorial museum. It was a pretty fancy mall, the cafeteria had windows overlooking the water and had a upscale marble bar that looked more like restaurant seating. Zoey fell asleep at the Statue of Liberty and was asleep the whole subway ride to the mall and for a few hours after. She is still taking one nap every day and she is just over 2 years old, I wonder how long that will last…

Well… That post was basically a super long way of saying that I want to go back to New York. Anyone want to go with me?
