Necklace & Clip: LEAF by BellaBeat // Ruched Cami Sports Bra: Old Navy // Yoga Pants: Old Navy // Burnout Tank: Old Navy // Z’s Dress: Joe Fresh

Today has been one of those days that makes me SO grateful to be a stay at home mom. My poor baby girl woke up at 3am last night throwing up and with a cough and runny nose. Since Kris had school in the morning I didn’t want to disturb him, so I grabbed all the pillows and blankets I could and Zoey and I headed to the TV room for a sleepover party. I didn’t want to leave her alone knowing that she might wake up sick again without me being there.

Zoey spent most the night watching Doc McStuffins – while I tried to sleep – she jumped on me and pulled my eyelids open or pinched my cheeks any time I got too comfortable. I still got a few minutes of sleep in here and there though. We spent the rest of today eating yummy snack food in our pj’s while watching TV and cuddling. As sad as it is for Zoey to be sick, I consider it a luxury that I am able to spend an entire day just cuddling with her when she needs it, I don’t have anywhere else in the world I need to be – or anywhere I would rather be.

Although laying around all day is fun every once in awhile, it is not too great for your health and got me thinking about how awesome my LEAF by BellaBeat is. Last time I told you about it in this post I focused on how useful it is when you are active, but I don’t think I mentioned how great it is for the days you have lots of down time, like how I did today. Using the corresponding app you can set your exercise goals and the LEAF will vibrate to remind you to get up and exercise when you have been inactive for too long. I have such a hard time remembering to exercise when I get busy (or lazy), so I love that the LEAF automatically senses when I have some down time and reminds me to take advantage of it.

The LEAF also senses stress and implements really calming breathing exercises through the app to help relieve it. As a toddler mom going through the terrible twos tantrum phase…. Lets just say I put these exercises to good use, they bring me to a place of feeling calm in the moments I need peace most.

Since I only got a few hours of sleep last night I found the sleep monitoring portion of the LEAF especially useful. According to the app I got about 4 hours of sleep last night and the quality was very poor. Seems pretty accurate seeing as I was being jumped on and kicked by a two year old the whole night. At one point I woke up to her throwing mini tea candles at my face over and over again, and laughing hysterically while she did so. In addition to those 4 hours I was able to get another couple this morning that were higher quality while Z napped. Overall I feel like I had a great rest last night, even though it was quite sporadic.

Anyone else have a good all nighter story? It doesn’t have to be with your baby, although in my experience nights got a whole lot more ‘exciting’ when I became a mom. LOL.
