What life is like being married to a medical student 👆🏼 Kris works all day and I play.

I am pretty sure she would spend the entire day jumping over waves if my arms didn’t ever get tired!

That is me waving up there in the green one! I was terrified this entire slooooow ride.

WE LOVE SATURDAYS! Anyone who is married to a medical student, or has a family member or loved one who has done medical school, knows just how time consuming and expensive it is💰💰💰💰. We don’t get to spend a lot of time together, which is why we love taking advantage of the weekends. This weekend we spent the entire day at a giant amusement and water park. Our morning was filled with splashing in the pool, riding the lazy river, waves and waterslides. The afternoon was filled with fun rides and roller coasters. I absolutely love watching Zoey go on ride after ride after ride and then getting so excited to go on more. Her favorite thing to do is go on the same one 3-4 times in a row and then switch to a new one. I can’t go on any crazy rides while I am pregnant, but I went on the sky lift, which was basically like a ski lift that went slowly over the park and gave you a beautiful view of the lake and all the rides.

I am always busy planning in advance for the weekends Kris has off and we tried to especially enjoy this one since his next two won’t be so free. They have him working at the hospital Saturday morning one week and then the next Saturday he has to do his first full 24hr shift (of many to come I am sure) 😞. So he will get home Sunday morning just in time to say goodbye as we head to church and then he will crash for the rest the day I am sure. Being married to a medical student means the whole family has to sacrifice in some small way or another, but I am so proud of him for what he is doing! Being a doctor is so much about giving and caring for others and I feel blessed to be married to someone who is making a career out of that type of service.

Someone commented on my Instagram the other day that they were pretty sure I would be married 5 or 6 times in my life🙄. First I rolled my eyes because they don’t know Kris and I, other than what I share on my blog and social media pages, so I am not sure how they came to that assumption. Then I thought about it and realized if I could continue to marry KRIS over and over again, I would be married 5 or 6 or 500 or 600 more times in my life. Every year I see more of the amazing man he is and feel like I love him even more. Despite all the ups and downs of life and marriage, I would make the same decision over and over again.

Somehow that turned sappy. I always get a little sidetracked when I start writing without a plan of what I am going to write, which is exactly what I did today. To sum my thoughts up though, I love weekends and I especially LOVE my sweet husband. Hope you all enjoy the weekend too, xoxoxox.

  1. Thanks for this post! It’s so good to see there is happy beautiful families out there. The media and world I swear want to keep that a secert. Hence why you get wierd people predicting your divorce. They probably just don’t belive people can really be as happy as your blog portays. But happy families are real 🙂

  2. It’s good to hear he has time on the weekends! I worry about what it will be like when Levi is in optometry school! :/ I know it will be so worth it though.

    1. You just get used to a different type of routine, but I think if you are always looking for the positive side of things you can love and enjoy every stage of life. When does he start?
