Awhile back I did a post sharing my favorite night time skin care products. If you read it you will know just how obsessed I am with Bioré. So when they reached out to me and asked if I wanted to try their Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub and then share my experience in a sponsored post I did not hesitate to say yes! The Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub fits perfectly into my morning routine! Keep reading and I will share why it is the perfect morning face wash for both dry skin and oily skin.

Before I apply my makeup in the morning I need to start with a clean face. I don’t know about the rest of the world, but I always wake up with slightly oily skin. Adding foundation on top of oily skin does not look pretty, plus it just over clogs your pores and causes even more skin problems. The other skin problem I have is totally the opposite and tends to show up in the fall and winter. My nose gets a little dry! I am not sure why, since the rest of my face never gets dry, but I am left having to deal with both oily and dry skin during this upcoming season.

I was so happy to discover that the Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub counteracts both dry skin and oily skin. Most skin care products you come across will only work to eliminate one or the other, but the perfect blend of cleansing powders in this scrub help get rid of both! Let me tell you how.

The Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub is the only skin care product I have come across that is in a powder form. The fine powder works to exfoliate your skin and remove dry flakes, while also getting deep into your pores to help eliminate oil. This makes it perfect for my morning routine. I wash my face with it during my morning shower (every second day) and then I am ready to put on makeup. I find that using it every second day works best for me.

To use it you splash a little water on your face, pour the powder in your hand, add a little water and then scrub. You can actually increase or decrease the intensity of this scrub by simply adding more or less water. When you first start to apply it you can really feel the exfoliation, but the longer you rub it in the more the powder dissolves, so there isn’t a risk of over scrubbing.

Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub is a powder that contains natural baking soda, which gently works to remove dirt and oil. It leaves my skin feeling super soft. It also leaves that same minty, fresh feel on your face as the Bioré charcoal line I talked about recently. I am tempted to use it every single day because I LOVE how it makes my face feel, but it actually works best if you only use it 2-3 times a week.

I absolutely love having this product on my bathroom shelf and it goes with me everywhere! The pictures are actually from a recent trip to Waikiki. On the flight there we didn’t check any bags. There are not many skin care products that you can bring in your carry on, but thanks to this one being a powder there was no problem. I was so glad I had it with me! After a face wash, makeup and a cup of tea on the balcony, I headed out into the hot humid heat with skin that felt fresh and clean all day long. Despite the fact that I was sweating constantly! It is definitely a tropical vacation must. And speaking of musts, check out the Bioré sweepstakes going on right now! Biore is giving away 1 prize package of a year’s supply of Biore Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub and Biore Baking Soda Pore Cleanser.

  1. Rach, like you, I can only go about my day happily AFTER I do my morning facial routine. It’s a little different than yours, tho’. First I run my finger inside my mouth and feel my teeth. All there? Wonderful. Then I gently pry open one eyelid after the other, sometimes several times, until they’re ready to do the trick on their own. Nest, I try smiling with one side of my mouth, then the other – back and forth until my whole mouth can join in. A quick check to make sure other facial features are still there – cheeks, eyebrows, nose – and I’m ready to face the day. HOWEVER, the result isn’t quite as satisfying as what I see in your photos so maybe I’ll try your way for awhile. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
