Newborn Photos + Family Photos

Yesterday made my baby three weeks old. Still so little… but since he is my second I know how fast the time flies. Soon he will be three years old. I thought I would share some of the things I don’t want to forget about the past three weeks along with his newborn photos and our family photos (taken by Olya Timoshevich), which were taken when he was four days old. He has already grown too much.

• Baby Zander is very strong, when he was four days old he could roll from his back to his side, now at three weeks old he can hold his head up by himself for a good minute.
• He smiles and laughs in his sleep.
• Zoey LOVES to hold and cuddle and kiss him and doesn’t seem to realize that she isn’t really big enough to hold him, and her cuddles are more like smothers.
• He rarely cries, the only time he does is when he is hungry and I don’t pick him up right away. Even then he stops the second someone holds him.

• I already have had to move the shoulder straps on his carseat up one level… He is getting taller!
• He must weigh about 9.5lbs now!
• He is great at nursing.
• Currently he has five ‘beds’ and I use every single one of them 🙈😂 His Dock-A-Tot inside of his bassinet is for bed time. The MamaRoo is for when I am doing my makeup. The Baby Bjorn Bouncer is for when Zoey and I cook together so he can be in the kitchen with us. Last, the Hushamok sits by my desk so I can work and rock him at the same time.

• He is a fabulous sleeper! He basically sleeps all day and all night. He is up every 2.5-3 hours to feed like clockwork. At night sometimes he will go 4 hours if I am lucky! Zoey used to do 12 hours at night when she got a bit older… I am dreaming of those days and hoping they come soon for Zander because I am EXHAUSTED.
• I am 7lbs from pre-pregnancy weight! Since I haven’t been active at all yet I think it is going to take me a few months to get off the rest… I refuse to start exercising till I can actually sleep through the night without interruption… Seriously I am SOOOO tired.
• My schedule is like this – go to bed at 10-11pm wake up and feed him at midnight, 3am and 6am. Zoey wakes up at 6am so that means we are up for the day. I work in the morning while Zander sleeps and Zoey eats/plays and then around 9 I am so tired that I take a nap🙈😂 while Zoey watches a show. Zoey and Zander both nap for a couple hours in the afternoon at the same time which is a great time for me to work again. From around 3-6 I clean the house and make dinner and then Kris comes home and we eat, hang out for a bit and then FALL ASLEEP.
• Physically I feel totally recovered from labor and birth and everything. It took WAY longer with Zoey!
• Zander still has a ton of thick, dark hair… Please don’t lose it buddy.
• His eyes are blue.

I am just so happy to have him be a part of our little family. I literally couldn’t feel more blessed right now.
