That red thing in her hand is a Swedish Fish, these were by far her favorite gift and she was eating one in almost every photo I took. So easy to please sometimes.

Zoeys Pj’s | Bear Beanie | Sherpa Booties
These are the pictures I captured Christmas morning. Zoey can’t look at them without asking to “Open presents?!?!” and then she goes looking for her stocking. So I try and hide the pictures from her since there are still 352 sleeps till Christmas 2016.
Our living room was a sea of bodies Christmas morning with somewhere around 20 of us packed in there, it is getting more hectic each year with more grandkids being born. I didn’t get Kris anything too special… Just a few little things, he always requests that I get him nothing and I always get him so much so this year I listened to his request. He did the opposite and got me almost everything on my mental wish list, which was a nice surprise since he usually isn’t a big gift giver. Zoey opened present after present for probably an hour, most of them from her grandparents. Every time I stopped paying attention for a minute or two I would look back to see her opening someone else’s presents. So lots of people got gifts with little holes in the wrapping.
It was a beautiful morning, but my favorite part was reading the Christmas story with just Kris, Zoey and I before we came downstairs. When I was a kid I never really understood how people could feel more excited about Christ’s birth than a pile of gifts and a stocking full of goodies. I mean I got that it was WAY more important, but for me it was not the main excitement of Christmas. This year it really clicked, I was just in awe and teared up a little as I read the story and realized just how beautiful and monumental that moment was. Anyways it was a beautiful way to finish off 2015 and I am already counting down to next year!

Oh Rachael and Kris this is not good to see Zoey growing so fast. BUT WAIT!! THIS IS GOOD!!! IT IS GREAT!!! Before you know it she will be a young woman, get married and have her first child AND THEN DEAR RACHAEL I WILL HAVE GOTTEN EVEN WITH YOU FOR MAKING ME A GRANDPA!!! You will be a grandma. Ha ha That will be so much fun for me to witness. I can’t wait. . . .BUT I WILL!!!!
It is not good she is growing so fast…. it is sad. She is hardly even a baby anymore…. I HATE it and LOVE it at the same time, it is so confusing being a parent. I am excited for you to get your revenge. In fact if you don’t get your revenge before you make a trip to the other side of the veil I will be VERY angry at you. love you grandpa. life would not be the same without you 🙂
