Phipps Conservatory

WARNING: lots of pictures. And the blog post somehow turned sappy at the end. I should stop writing my posts late at night.Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael BurgessWe found the most beautiful place to visit in Pittsburgh and somehow went on a day when we got it all to ourselves!Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael BurgessPhipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael BurgessShe loves copying me when we take pictures 🙂 <3Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael BurgessPhipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael Burgess Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael BurgessSmelling the flowers or ‘wires’ as she calls them. Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael Burgess Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael Burgess Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael BurgessI don’t know why, but seeing her on tip toes just melts my heart. She is so tiny and adorable and perfect. Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael BurgessI know this picture is blurry, but I love that it caught Zoey in action. She was literally singing and dancing through the entire conservatory. While Kris was taking a picture Zoey was busy jumping up and down in excitement. Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael BurgessShe was scared, yet mesmerized by the giant ‘pokey ball’. DSC_0528 Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael Burgess Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael BurgessLook at the crazy cactus behind me!! And she was spinning while she sang. Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael Burgess Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael Burgess Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael Burgess Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael BurgessThe miniature village with the train was Z’s favorite part, we came back to it about five times and every time she cried when we left. Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael BurgessPhipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael Burgess Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael BurgessYou could only hear the tribal/jungle music standing right under this dome, Zoey was perplexed. Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael Burgess Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael Burgess Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael Burgess Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael BurgessShe is not usually a hand holder so I just love it when she does want to hold hands. Once she realized the fish couldn’t swim through the glass she couldn’t stay away.Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh with travel blogger Rachael Burgess

Ok first off. SORRY there were SO many pictures in this one. I want to be able to remember and look back on them all and I couldn’t decide which ones to leave out. These are only a quarter or less of what I have on my computer, so I do have some self restraint.

Secondly, Phipps Conservatory is awesome. I literally cannot wait to go back. I have never seen Zoey so completely happy with an excursion, other than the aquarium we visited in Toronto. As a mom nothing makes me happier than to see her beaming with joy. There was so much to explore, we saw almost everything and it took about two hours to get through. Zoey bawled when we left. Poor baby. She would live there if she could. It makes me sad to think that one day she will be a teenager who isn’t completely awe struck with a flower. I am excited at the same time to get to know her personality better.

Being a mom is such a bittersweet journey you guys. I was so excited when she learned to walk, go on the potty, do puzzles, say a prayer, talk in sentences… But then I think that every milestone is one step further away from the perfect, sweet, innocent baby. Don’t get me wrong, I have loved every stage. I think I have just been thinking a lot about how I really don’t have a baby anymore. My baby is gone. It is so hard to accept. Oh my gosh, how did I get on this topic. I am going to stop this tangent before I start bawling.

Well I am signing off for the night. Anyone reading – I love you. Really, it means a lot that you would spend your time reading about my life, especially in a post like this where you had to scroll through a thousand pictures to get to my thoughts. xoxoxoxo
