[blockquote]…what is most important almost always involves the people around us. Often we assume that they must know how much we love them. But we should never assume; we should let them know… Send that note to a friend you’ve been neglecting; give your child a hug; give your parents a hug; say “I love you” more; always express your thanks. Never let problem to be solved become more important than a person to be loved. – What Matters Most, Thomas S. Monson[/blockquote]

There is nothing like a walk through the forest. When I was a kid I used to play in the forest with my siblings and build forts for hours and days on end. The trees do good for my soul I guess. These pictures are from a lovely walk on Salt Spring Is. that leads to the ocean. All along the walk are rocks that look like faces, creative sculptures and there is even a fairy house. We even ran into a real forest man (or maybe it was Kris’ dad with moss all over his face… it was hard to tell).

When we got to the beach Zoey insisted on walking in the water in her shoes… She wanted to get up close so she could throw rocks and make splashes easier. Luckily she was wearing her Keep shoes which are super durable.

On the walk back she had to be carried because her shoes were collecting too much mud and dirt. She did not like that. She kept saying ‘shoe-shoe! shoe-shoe!’ so that I would put her shoes back on. I told her that her shoes were ‘owie’ so that she would understand she couldn’t wear them.

That is when Zoey officially wrote her first song. She started singing “Owie, owie, shoe-shoe! Owie, owie, shoe-shoe!” I was so proud. Who would have guessed my babe would know how to write a song before she even turned two. Ok maybe it wasn’t a smash-hit. But still. I loved it. Hope you are all having a beautiful Sunday – I would love to hear how you guys are spending today!
