Splashing in Tampa

We are back in Florida, we just can’t stay away… Pretty much the day after we got home last time I started missing the sun. This time we decided to pack super light. We literally only brought three carryons for four days and four people. It was a little bit of a feat trying to pack everything we needed into just three small bags . Once it was done, traveling was a dream. Kris and I each got a bag on our back and the other one went under the stroller. Since we checked our carseats and both kiddies fit on our amazing sibby stroller, we had nothing else to carry! When you are keeping track of two babes, this is definitely the way to travel.

As soon as we landed in Orlando we drove to the nearest Walmart and bought everything we needed, beach chairs, towels sunscreen, etc. Then we just left everything we didn’t use in Florida. Surprisingly, it was actually a lot cheaper to do that, than to pay for checked bags. And like I said, it made airport time a breeze.

We did Disney World last trip, so this trip we wanted to try something new. Kris found Busch Gardens online and started watching YouTube videos of all the roller coasters they have. It only took a few minutes for him to be completely convinced we needed to go. I LOVE roller coasters and also was pretty excited about the fact that Busch Gardens is not only a theme park, but also a Zoo & a splash pad! I knew Zoey would be in heaven.

During the hottest part of the day we headed to Sesame Street. Over there you will find all the kid friendly rides, performances by elmo and cookie monster, a giant treehouse and most importantly, the splash pad! It was the perfect spot to cool off after sweating to death. I even put on my bathing suit and played (although I saw no other adults in bathing suits… so not sure if that was kosher). It was so refreshing to splash in the cool water.

Since we were there the whole day Zander didn’t get to go home and nap. But it was ok because we brought our Evenflo Sibby Stroller. It adjusts to sit up, so he can see the world, it can completely recline into a little bassinet, or any position in between. There is a mesh lining that attaches from the sun shade down all the way around the seat, so when you lay it down the whole top is completely enclosed and safe from the sun. I loved that he had his own shady, little enclosure the whole day. It was was super hot and sunny, but there was no chance of little arms sticking out the sides and getting burnt.

When the Sibby Stroller was completely reclined Zoey managed to squeeze in the bed with Zander. When it was sitting up, or only partially reclined, she just jumped on the kick board. Everywhere we go with this stroller people comment on how smart the kick board is, and they are totally right. It makes summer traveling with two kids SO much easier. The Sibby Stroller is a single stroller that carries double the load! I love it! Perfect for summer outings and travel. We have already brought it to Niagara Falls and Florida (twice), and it goes shopping and to the beach with us all the time. I am sure it will be taking us on many more summer adventures this year. I have tried strollers from so many brands, and my Evenflo Sibby is the one that keeps sticking around. It just fills every stroller need I could possibly have in a compact, stylish and functional way.

Busch Gardens was SO much fun and we could not have done it without the right ‘carriage’ to carry our two little people around. I am going to post all about everything else we did at Busch Gardens – roller coasters (and so much more) tomorrow! So stay tuned.

What is your favorite summer outing with kids?? How do you get nap time in when you get to spend an entire day in the sun and on the go?!
