My Dress: F21 | Z’s Swimsuit: Old Navy | Z’s Pajamas: First Impressions

Kris is on his very first rotation right now, he has two years of rotations and basically that is where you follow doctors around and try to learn as much as you can. He has tests every few months based on what type of rotation he is on and what doctors he’s been following. Right now he is on a surgery rotation. He went with the doctor he is working with to a rural hospital that isn’t part of his official rotations site, but the doctor invited him to go. I was so proud of him when he came home the other day and told me that the surgeon he is working with was really impressed by Kris and how well he is doing. One of the nurses told him that someone else rotating at that hospital left crying after their first day and never came back… haha. Probably shouldn’t laugh at that🙈. He will probably be mad at me for sharing, but I just can’t help loving what a smart, likable, amazing man I married. I am sure he will have his fair share of difficult rotations over the next few years so might as well celebrate the good ones.

We have only finished one week of rotations, but so far I am enjoying it a lot more than the first two years. Kris is gone a lot during the day, but when he is home he doesn’t have to worry about studying nearly as much as before, so it is like I really have him for at least a few hours every night!! And he gets weekends off.

These pictures are from Sunday, we went to church in the morning, we are loving the church here. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming! After church it was BOILING hot so we decided we were going to go swim at the beach. A minute in to the drive it started pouring rain, so we turned around. I had put on makeup and a beach dress that I wanted pictures in it at the beach to document 22 weeks, so when we got home Kris snapped a couple shots on our back porch in the rain. He stood inside and took a few pictures from the doorway while Zoey swam in her pool on the deck and I modeled my bump. It was pouring, but it was still really warm so she swam for a bit.

When we were all dried off I went downstairs to sing and compose a little bit and I came upstairs to find my two favorite people cuddling on the bed while watching a show. Zoey was completely out, I don’t know what it is about sleeping babies, but it gets me every time. Something so peaceful and serene about it.

That pretty much sums up our weekend!

  1. Rachael, your ability to find joy in all things really impresses me. What a blessing for you and your family. Okay, I bet you don’t find joy in cleaning up after Zoe when you forgot to put her diaper on. No one is perfect.

    1. Well thank you! I really try to find the joy in every day. And you are right, that would not be my favorite – I have had my fair share of cleaning pee out of carpets so I know. haha
