Anyone who has followed my blog and Instagram for any amount of time should know by now that we LOVE the rain. Particularly Zoey. I always thought the rain was a peaceful thing to watch out the window. It made a day indoors feel so cozy. But Zoey taught me to love the rain in a whole new way.
I cannot remember exactly when it started with her, but it was definitely before she could talk and maybe before she could even walk. She would go to the door or the window whenever it rained and beg to go outside. Or she would we would grab her boots off the shelf and bring them to me so I could get her ready. She laughs and spins and dances and puddle jumps till she is soaked through and then comes inside for a warm bath. It seems like she inherited my west coast spirit somehow, even though she has never lived in the beautiful, rainy Vancouver Island. It’s like her soul knows where her roots come from.
The rain has kind of become our thing. Man, I hope she never grows out of her rain love. I seriously hope one day she texts me selfies of herself at college, wearing her rubber boots and raincoat, smiling in the rain.
Her rain-love also extends to the snow. I have heard SO many complaints from so many people about rainy and snowy days. Somehow the rain and snow always get nicknamed “bad weather”. But thanks to my little sweetie, I can’t help but see how much beauty there is in rain showers and falling snowflakes. You just have to know how to dress in order to comfortably take advantage of days like these.
So today I thought I would share with you all a little outfit inspiration from Joules. I thought I would show you how we “outwit the weather in brilliantly British style!” 😉 You really don’t need much, just a sturdy pair of boots and a waterproof rain coat. I love the stylish designs Joules has to offer. Their rain boots come in a huge variety of vibrant fall colors and pretty prints. Their rain coats combine fashion and function seamlessly, so you can enjoy a refreshing rain while looking fabulous. Wether you want to go splash in the waves, puddle jump or just make your commute to work while staying dry, Joules makes it easy for you to outwit the weather.
Also I discovered after getting my Joules boots that they can actually be worn in snow too! With winter around the corner this is a major bonus. I love knee high boots for snowman building. There is nothing worse than a boot full of snow half way through your play. I think my coat is going to be cozy enough for the beginning of the winter season too!
Check out all they have to offer at joulesusa.com and let me know in the comments which boot design is your favorite! Also I have a DISCOUNT CODE exclusively for you lovelies, RAINY20 will get you 20% off all full priced items (offer ends November 31st 2016)!

I love the rain! And I’m actually looking for rain boots. I don’t know why rain is described as “bad weather” either. To me, it’s ideal weather.
No wonder we are friends! The rain is so beautiful <3
My little ones love the rain too. If they could stay out there and play in the rain all the time, they would be the happiest little girls…lol
The rain boots are really cute, hers and yours. Love the colors.

Your photos are so stunning, I love happy family pictures like this, my little one doesn’t like being out in the rain but she loves to sit at the window and watch it come down 🙂
