Three Awesome Maternity Swimsuit Styles That Are Not Maternity

A lot of people were shocked when I told them this bathing suit I wore on Instagram the other day is NOT a maternity swimsuit. Almost eight months pregnant and it still fits like a glove! I love shopping non-maternity because it means I can wear the style after baby as well. I thought I would share with you all my top three maternity swimsuit styles that are actually not maternity.

1. Ruched Sides Are Great In Maternity Swimsuits

A lot of bathing suits have that pleated look over the torso, it is a style that makes you look thinner so it is popular in tight fitted clothing like swimsuits. The benefit for pregnant ladies is that all that extra fabric gives a little extra room for your belly when you are definitely NOT in the thin category. Something like this, this, this or this might be great options for the first six to seven months of pregnancy.

2. Low Backs and Cut Out Backs Are Super Adjustable

The reason my Rad Swim swimsuit works so well for maternity is because it has almost no back, allowing the stomach area to adjust freely! It has a cross tie over the back that has allowed me to adjust it according to the size of my belly. I also really like this suit and this suit that are a similar style and have low or no backs.

3. Empire Waist Lines Are Always A Good Bet On Your Bump

Empire waist-lined dresses and tops always look flattering on a bump. It is no different when it comes to swimwear. A band right above your bump can help hold your suit in place so it doesn’t stretch out at an awkward angle from your boobs to your belly button. It also accentuates your new pregnancy curves in a very flattering way. This one, this one and this one might be great options for maternity swimsuits.

When I was pregnant with Zoey I had SUCH a hard time finding a maternity swimsuit, with this baby I really think I figured it out! Has anyone else had a hard time finding stylish maternity swimsuits? PS. Zoey’s swimsuit is also from Rad Swim and comes in kid size and mom size! We spent the most beautiful day at Sharks Cove. Kris enjoyed amazing snorkeling in deep blue holes. The cove is surrounded by shallow sandy bottom pools that don’t get more than a foot or two deep and that is where Zoey and I played. We searched for crabs and fishies in the shallow pools while Kris snorkeled! So much fun.

She told us this rock was her ‘slide’ and just kept climbing up it and scooching her little bum down the slightly, slide like side. 😂
