Moving to the Nursery

In just a week and a half Violet will be six weeks old… Where does the time go!? I promised myself that I would move her to her own crib by six weeks. That is what I did with Zoey, and she was able to transition much, much easier than Zander. I waited till he was four months to make the transition. By then he was more aware of the change, which made it harder. Up to this point I have had my Delta Dylan rocker in our bedroom since it is so great for nursing. But I moved it to the nursery to get ready for the transition, that way night feedings will be a little easier.

Aside from moving our Delta Dylan chair over to the nursery, I also have gotten ready by setting up a third baby monitor over her bed. We now have one over her crib, beside Zoey’s bed and watching Zander’s lower bunk. Putting all three of them in the same room makes me a little nervous, but having a constant eye on each of my babies makes the transition easier.

We also have decorated the nursery, stocked up on crib sheets and other bedding, talked with Zoey and Zander about the change, and have the white noise all set up. There isn’t much else to do except savor my last week and a half with my baby sleeping by my side. This transition is always really hard for me emotionally. But it helps me and baby sleep more restfully at night, which makes me a better mom in the morning!

For me the key component of making the transition from bassinet to crib, and from our room to the nursery, is our rocking chair. The Delta Dylan rocking chair is (clearly) beautiful, and will easily fit into our regular home decor once I no longer need a designated nursing chair. The thing I love most about the Delta Dylan Rocker is how comfortable it is!

The Delta Dylan Rocker is melt-right-in soft and comfy. The foot rest pops easily in and out, so you can sit normally and rock, or kick your feet up and relax. It also reclines, allowing you to lay back and rest. Kris often falls asleep in this chair accidentally when it is reclined, and he is 6 feet tall. That is how comfortable it is! Many other rockers we tried weren’t built to be big enough for a taller person to be comfy in, but the Delta Dylan Rocker is the perfect relaxing place for mom or dad to feed baby. The last feature I love is it’s ability to both rock and swivel, allowing you optimal mobility to rock your baby to sleep without getting up out of the comfort of your chair.

Basically every good feature you could find in an individual rocker is all combined into one in the Delta Dylan Rocker. You can order it on Amazon Prime and get it in just a few days! That is what we did. It is easy to assemble (only took Kris ten minutes to put together) and if you use my discount code (RACH15) you get 15% off your nursery set purchase of $1000 or more from Delta kids furniture!!
