My Mini X-ray Girl

Who else is having fun planning costumes for Halloween?! Every day Zoey tells me she is going to be something different. So far I have heard cow, flower, Christmas tree, unicorn, dog and many more. But today we decided to dress up as a DIY X-ray. I thought it would be cute to go with the medical theme since her daddy is (almost) a doctor. Also dressing up as an X-ray seemed like a unique costume idea to me! You don’t see many X-ray’s walking around.

Zoey absolutely LOVES crafting. I turned her closet into a ‘craft room’ and she spends hours in there. So at least one DIY costume this season was a must. I was inspired by all the ‘boxtumes’ I have been seeing this season, and also the endless stream of Amazon Prime boxes that fill my living room🙈😂. We get almost daily packages from Amazon Prime (especially during the holiday season) and so I thought I might as well put one of these boxes to use!

We got out the craft supplies and got to work on our boxtume. Zoey loves crafting so she was pretty much in heaven! We made the whole thing black, then added the X-ray on top. The DIY X-ray costume was so simple to make that I thought I would share how to with all you Halloween lovers looking for a unique costume idea.

How to Make a DIY X-ray Costume for Halloween

What you need:

• A box!
• 1 black poster board
• 1 white poster board
• Glue stick
• Scissors

How to make the DIY X-Ray Costume:

1. Cut a hole in the top of the box that your head can fit through! Cut two holes in the sides for your arms to go through. Remove the bottom panel where your legs will come out. Use tape to secure the boxes shape as needed. Make sure it fits!
2. Cut out a piece of black poster board the same size as the front of your box, glue it to the front.
3. Cut out the letters X, R, A and Y, ribs, and a spine. It is much easier than it looks! Just use my box as a pattern.
4. Glue everything in place!
5. Wear all black under the boxtume to complete the look.

With that you are all set, your X-ray boxtume is ready to be worn out trick-or-treating, or to your next Halloween party! I absolutely loved the costume combo of Zoey in her X-ray costume and her daddy in his scrubs. A doctor and his little mini X-ray! Another cute idea if you are pregnant and trying to find a unique costume idea for pregnancy, is to make a mini baby skeleton and place that curled up under the rib cage! I have seen that a few times on black t-shirts and it is super cute, a fun way to announce your pregnancy with a Halloween twist too.

Now that that is done I need to head back on Amazon Prime and start ordering Halloween goodies. I need treats, decorations, party supplies, etc. But mostly I need another Amazon Prime box so I can make Zander into a little mini X-ray too! Or maybe I should make him into something else medical related… I am drawing a blank, but if you have a unique costume idea with a box, that is something to do with medicine, send it my way!
