A whole bunch of my friends are already done Christmas shopping for their kids. Me over here, I am just barely starting to look around. I have a grand total of one gift for each member of my family. So I’ve been trying to figure out where to go Christmas shopping. Where do you guys go? So far the only place I have in mind is Boscovs. Boscovs is my go to. They have everything there. It is nice to look in one place rather than go to a thousand different stores.
I would have had more gifts in my Christmas gift stockpile. But I ended up giving everything I grabbed from Boscovs to the kids early. We are in New York for three weeks and one of the things I grabbed for Zoey was the cutest rainbow unicorn sleeping bag and a matching pillow. I thought it would be perfect for our trip, so I couldn’t wait for Christmas to give it to her. For Zander I had picked little reindeer stuffy that came with a soft blanket and a pillow animal stuffy. I thought they would be perfect for him to use while we were in New York as well. So everyone got early Christmas presents here.
Kris was away when I decided to pull out my Boscovs treasures for the kids. Zoey was really missing her dad that day so I had an idea to cheer her up. First I hid the gifts in my closet, then I called Kris and told him where they were. Then Kris called Zoey on FaceTime and told her that he left a special gift for her in my closet. She ran over and pulled it out. I have never seen so much excited jumping or heard louder squeals of joy over a sleeping bag. She was in a good mood the rest of the night and insisted on sleeping in her new sleeping bag on daddy’s side of the bed just in case he came home… So sad and cute!
It is funny to me how demanding toddlers can be on one hand, and then how easily satisfied they can be at the same time. Zoey will have a major tantrum over having to clean up two toys, but then will have a Disneyland-sized, happy reaction, to a single marshmallow. It makes being a parent so entertaining.
I am getting off topic though! Back to where to go Christmas shopping – I will probably stick to Boscovs for most of my gifts. My budget is quickly diminishing. At Boscovs I always find high quality, name brand products, for a fraction of the price they should be. You literally can get everything there. All the way from in house made fudge and candy, to clothes for the whole family, and even furniture, appliances, dishes, home decor and beauty supplies. They have the perfect balance of quality and low prices. I always walk out of Boscovs with those ginormous bags (that I can literally fit inside) and I pay hardly anything. It is a good feeling!
Have you been wondering where to go Christmas shopping? Is budget and quality a consideration in where you choose to shop?
