I can’t believe that August is over… It feels so final. The best summer ever is coming to an official end and it officially will be fall. Even though according to google the first day of fall isn’t till September 23rd…to me all these yellow leaves I’ve been seeing and chillier days we’ve been having feel very fall-ish.

We had a little blip of sunshine though so Zoey and I and a couple friends threw on our suits and booked it to the beach for some end of summer fun and photos.

The one thing I won’t miss about the summer is what this crazy humidity does to my poor skin. When it gets so hot and sticky out my face starts to feel the consequences. If it weren’t for pore-cleansing facial washes like Purifi by Malibu C I would be a greasy sticky mess. When it comes to keeping my pores clean and my skin bright and beautiful I follow a simple, three step routine.

  1. Avoid thick and greasy foundations and go for ones that are organic, mineral based and a more watery consistency. It is amazing how much those thick, clay like foundations can clog your pores and cause unwanted outbreaks.
  2. When you shower let your face run under the hot water for a minute or two. This is a great way to gently cleanse your pores without being too rough on your skin.
  3. Use a gentle, exfoliating facial cleanser like Purifi by Malibu C every night to wash off your makeup. Even on the days you don’t wear makeup give your face a gentle cleansing wash.

Clear skin not only looks beautiful, it feels amazing. It is also one of the cheapest ways to be fashionable on a budget… Because when your face is glowing people pay so much less attention to what you are wearing 😉 You probably didn’t even notice the dress I am wearing in the pictures above is about five years old. I call it creating the illusion of fashion and I do it all the time!

Let me know in the comments what your clear skin secrets are. I would love to know any other great ideas for getting acne-free skin.
