Don’t You Remember?

I like sad songs. Actually I love them. I love how they grab your heart and force you to taste things you’ve been trying to forget. I love how they make you remember your most painful moments, while at the same time providing healing for the wounds they reminded you of.
I first heard this song during a difficult time in my life. The words rang so strongly with me and provided some healing. This is a picture of me singing/playing Don’t You Remember for the first time.
This song is brilliant because its lyrics literally express the question every sad song begs, ‘Don’t you remember!?’ Don’t you remember how happy we were, how beautiful life was, can’t you remember why we were together and why you loved me? A sad song is a tragic plea from the betrayed soul to be mended, and to be remembered.
So listen, and remember.
XOXO,
