The holidays are the perfect time to take family pictures since everyone is together. We have been planning ours for the past little while. A few weeks ago I shared a quick hair tutorial for family photos and today I thought I would share a couple more tips to help you get ready to take your family photos this holiday.

  1. Choose your color scheme. This is something you will not want to do the day of pictures. I like to plan my families outfits at least a couple weeks in advance to make sure I have time to find everything. This year we have the entire extended family coming so we are going with neutral colors, creams, browns and pinks with a hint of sparkle. It is smart to choose a neutral color when you are working with a large group because it is easier to get a cohesive look that way.Getting ready for holiday family photos with lifestyle blogger Rachael Burgess
  2. Whiten your smile. There is nothing better than bright, white smiles in family photos. I love the Crest 3D Whitestrips. I noticed my teeth were whiter after just one treatment. It uses the same enamel safe teeth whitening ingredients your dentist uses, so it really is top of the line and you can do it in your own home! You can do this the morning of photos and a couple times leading up to it, just follow the directions in the kit. They have an advanced seal technology to hold the strips in place so you can drink water and go about your morning prep without them getting in the way. Right now Walmart has a buy one get one free offer going on for Crest 3D Whitestrips and so I stocked up. It is rare that you see a deal like that on such an effective product, they literally remove years of stains!Getting ready for holiday family photos with lifestyle blogger Rachael Burgess
  3. Plan a photographer in advance. If you are booking during the holidays you are going to want to plan well in advance. Last year we learned this the hard way when we started making calls a week before Christmas and realized everyone in our area was booked. We ended up going the tripod and self timer mode which took about twice as long as it would have with a photographer. Right now is a good time to start making calls if you haven’t already.DSC_0823

I can’t wait to start seeing everyones holiday family photos this season and hope all of my wonderful readers are beaming with beautiful, white smiles.

Happy Holidays!!

xoxo
