It was quite a process getting this video on YouTube and it is not even close to perfect. The recording is much less than professional. My lips and the track don’t match up seamlessly. I spent hours recording. A lot of thought was put into my makeup. I planned an outfit that I couldn’t wear because the weather was icy. To top it off YouTube removed my scheduled video by mistake and I had to write an appeal in order to have it reinstated. I almost didn’t film this video because my hands were so numb from being outside for a photoshoot right before. I was SO cold I really didn’t want to do it at all. I breathed deep beforehand and did my best not to shiver. I thought I had the perfect take the first time, but something interrupted the filming right near the end and I had to start over. Within ten minutes of finishing the video it was dark outside, I just barely caught the lighting.
I did it though, and I feel proud and satisfied despite the fact that the results don’t really match my efforts. I am not saying this all to complain. I guess I just want people to see that things don’t just happen, you have to make them happen. I don’t accidentally have a lot of followers on Instagram. I haven’t gone viral. I stay up late, I work all day. I think when you work for something you value it more though. Every speck of exhaustion is SO worth being able to do what I love and live my personal dream.
What success means is different to every person. The key to gaining success is the same for every person. Work hard. Work hard. Work hard.
