Most people probably wouldn’t consider the hotel the most exciting part of the vacation, but most people aren’t Zoey.😂 She thinks anytime we stay in a hotel, it is a vacation. Hotels have pools, free breakfasts, lots of cartoons and big queen beds all for her – what else could a toddler want?
We have stayed at The Sheraton on the Falls Hotel twice and loved it both times! A lot of hotels we looked at on the Canadian side of the falls were outdated, but The Sheraton is really up to date and modern. To be honest I think hotels are a little bit gross, kind of like public bathrooms. I have to put up a mental block when I use them and try not to imagine 1000 other people laying their head on the same pillow I am. But it really makes it easy to forget when the decor and furniture are all stylish and new. It makes things feel clean and fresh.
Kris had an odd schedule this month since he was working in the ER room. He didn’t have the weekend off, but he had a few days off in the middle of the week. We usually always vacation on the weekend and now I am thinking we should always try and do midweek vacays instead. Like I said in my first post about this trip, we had the city to ourselves and the walk along the falls. But the real bonus was we got to stay in a falls view room at our hotel, for cheaper than the weekend rates. AND if that weren’t enough, they upgraded us to an extra fancy room because they weren’t very busy. I am all about Wednesday vacations now…
Our room had a fireplace, a beautiful view of both falls (like seriously breathtaking, I’ll have to share the pics soon…) and it even came with a FREE WATER BOTTLE . Now you guys know our true level of class, we have never stayed in a hotel room that gave away free water bottles before. 😂😂😂 Every place we’ve stayed has been like, “Here is all this candy and water, pick it up and we will charge you 10 times more than normal candy and water would cost. Enjoy!”. You have to guard it the whole stay so your toddler doesn’t pick up that tempting $25 Toblerone bar. Hotels are tricky people. You guys know what I am talking about, right?!
We also got a free bottle of wine because we purchased through Groupon. It was part of the package. We don’t drink, so we have this bottle of wine that I am not sure what to do with… Cook with it? Keep it on the shelf as a decoration?? If any of my wine loving friends want it, it’s yours for the taking!
The last thing we did before leaving the hotel in the morning was jump in the pool! I just got THEEEE cutest swim suits from Kortni Jeane and couldn’t wait to try them out. Seriously guys, I’m used to mommy and me stuff with Zoey, but they had a matching pair of swim trunks for Zander!! I am so in love 😍😍😍.
