These pictures are from a beautiful day at a beach on Salt Spring Is. near the Vesuvius ferry this last July. This beach is where a lot of Salt-springers come to swim in the summer, but it is also the place of one of the iciest winter swimming traditions around. Every new year people of the island gather for the Polar Bear Swim! There is a countdown and everyone runs into the water at the exact same time. People wear all sorts of interesting costumes. Kris has done it every year that I have known him and my brothers always join in too. Last year was Zoeys first time seeing the Polar Bear Swim. She was so little at the time but when Kris ran into the water she was devastated! We were videoing and caught her reaction on camera, you can watch it on Kris’ Instagram page HERE. I thought it was so cute/funny/sad.

I am still working on making it through all my pictures from this summer, but it has been so fun for me to look back at them all while I sort through and share them. Makes me excited for next summer!

What is your favorite memory from this summer?
