Last weekend we were lucky to travel up to the Pocono Mountains for a stay at the beautiful Kalahari Resort. The Kalahari Resort holds Pennsylvania’s largest indoor waterpark, a new expansion that is about to open will make it America’s largest indoor waterpark!

We literally had the time of our lives, there were more waterslides than we could count. Kid size and adult size slides were everywhere. I was feeling a little under the weather, so I sat in the kiddy pool most the time with Zoey. I was expecting her to be a little timid with the slides and water, but she was jumping in the water and swimming around in her little life jacket like she was born there. I just sat in the comfortably warm water and watched as she went up and down and up and down and up and down on the slides. She was in heaven, I was so happy to see she likes the water just as much (or possibly more) than I do. Aside from the 10+ slides in the kiddy pool area, they had a little kid sized lazy river. You could walk around it or float around it in toddler sized tubes, they also had a gigantic water table with all the toys and trinkets a child could dream of, a gigantic tree full of baby swings and gigantic frogs and snails and elephants that the kids could climb and play on. With 100’s of people everywhere there was still always something to do and little to no line-ups for anything!

My sister Amalie and Kris had a blast on all the giant waterslides, I think there were four single rider slides, one roller coaster type slide and 3 or 4 ones that you rode down on a giant tube with a friend or 3. Kris’ favorite part was the standing wave, the Flowrider, it is like an eternal wave and you can surf or body board on it.

The waterpark is open 9am-9pm and you are free to come and go all day the day you arrive and the day you checkout, so basically for a one night stay you get two full days at the waterpark. We had to bribe Zoey to leave the waterpark at around 5pm so we could go get dinner at one of the many restaurants inside of the resort. As soon as we got to our room to change she dropped dead asleep on the bed, you can see in the very last picture above I joined right in. We let her nap for a bit and then grabbed dinner and headed back to the waterpark for more fun.

At around 8:30pm Amalie took Zoey up to the room (bawling, she was not ready to leave!) and Kris and I relaxed in the hot tub for a bit. When we got up to the room my amazing sister had Zoey all ready for bed, so we decided to sneak out andย take advantage of the 30,000 square feet of arcades and game rooms. We had a blast doing the mini bowling, I may or may not have cheated a few times… And I still lost. But it was really fun. Then we headed upstairs and got some ice cream from the cutest little candy and ice cream shop to end our night.

Basically it was a blast and we will definitely be heading back soon. Zoey asks us to bring her to the waterpark daily now! It seriously made my heart so happy to see her having such a fun time.
