How is it halfway through January and I still haven’t posted our pictures from literally the BEST Christmas breakfast ever?! When we decided to have Christmas just on our own one of the first things I said to Kris was that we had to make sure we had an amazing Christmas breakfast to help make the day feel extra special even though we wouldn’t have extended family around. He agreed.
We went shopping Christmas Eve to get all the ingredients. Our only rule: it had to be as delicious, indulgent and unhealthy as possible. We don’t usually eat meat, but for Christmas we got the best kind – BACON. And sausages. We also got pastries, whip cream, sparkling cider, fresh fruit and berries and we made our own waffles. It was a toss up between brownie batter pancakes, but waffles won because I love how the butter melts into the squares… Tell me I am not the only one who thinks about things like that??
When it came to Christmas day we woke up a little later than planned. It was Sunday, so we went to church and ended up postponing our Christmas breakfast till around 4pm. While we were cooking together we watched Mr. Beans Christmas, which is kind of a family tradition. I am sure Zoey did not understand the humor, but she knew it was supposed to be funny and laughed hysterically the whole time she watched.
I think watching her watch Mr. Bean was even funnier than watching Mr. Bean for me. LOL.
We each ‘decorated’ our own waffle and it was funny to see how each of us kind of made a waffle version of ourselves. It wasn’t a contest – but at the same time everything is kind of a contest with Kris and I. So let me know in the comments who’s waffle you think should win. You have to guess whose is whose😂.
I am sure everyone has stopped thinking about Christmas by now… But every time it snows Zoey yells to me, “Mommy! Its snowing, it is Christmas time again! I get presents!!!” haha. So we definitely haven’t forgotten it yet. Only 342 days till we get to do it all over again 😉
